International film star Aamir Khan has been a top box office draw for decades. With blockbuster smash hits like Dangal, Lagaan, Ghanjini, and so many others he has earned the fandom of moviegoers across the globe.

This poignant content piece I came across contains a few of his deep thoughts clipped from various interviews. In these brief segments, he provides counsel to individuals seeking to tap into something more for their lives.

One thing that particularly stood out for me is his exhortation to get out on the road and travel for an extended period.

Not just staying at a middling resort for a week but to go out, genuinely experience places & engage with people along the way.

In the clip, he is speaking directly to a youthful Indian audience — proposing they start their journey in Kashmir in the north of India and within a year make their way overland down to Kanyakamuri all the way in the south.

But his advice can apply to many other places in the world.

For example, if you live in the United States and circumstances permitting, perhaps you can take a few months and hit the road.

Explore countless intercontinental places starting from the Atlantic coast all the way to the Pacific. Talk to many different people along the journey. Ask good questions and kindly listen to what they have to say. Learn from the different situations you encounter.

There are of course tremendous opportunities to do the same throughout the world.

As Aamir points out, take all necessary precautions for your safety but initiate the first adventurous step.

He goes on to say this is all the business education you’ll need — far greater than anything you’ll get at university.

What do you guys think? Agree, disagree? Let me know in the comments.
