Johnny Cash. Icon.
I was listening to one of his songs the other day — I’ve Been Everwhere
The story within the song goes something like this…the main character hitches a ride with a trucker. The trucker says “Have you ever seen a road so dusty?” The hitchhiker replies that he’s seen every road out there in the US. Punctuating it with the comment “I’ve been everywhere man.”
Wow.
What a bold, powerful declaration! That’s pretty damn awesome.
Just think about proudly and assertively saying that to your kids, grandkids, great grandkids, young mentees, peers, family & friends, potential romantic interests, rivals & competitors, random strangers you meet, etc.
So cool. Wish I could say that.
In my last post, I briefly touched on the topic of extended travel in the United States. Cash’s song speaks directly to this and is even kind of a guide.
What do you think? Can you make the hard statement above now? Maybe in the future?
Leave a comment, would love to hear your thoughts.
